Project Managers: An Independent Project View

Have you considered an independent perspective to your project? Of course, when working with a consultancy on an ERP project, you may not think about hiring additional resource. But, here’s why most clients are now considering independent resource…

Project Managers 🤔

Over the last few days, I've been having a few conversations around potential Infor projects with clients.

One question being asked a lot is down to Project Managers and how beneficial it is to use an independent PM referred to consultancies providing them with one. 🤷‍♂️

I have compiled the following which I believe is the benefits of hiring an independent PM and why I would recommend it. 👇

1. Objectivity and Impartiality: 💻

Conflict of Interest: Independent PMs make decisions based on the project's best interests, without a vested interest in the consultancy's success.

Fair Assessment: They provide unbiased assessments of progress, performance, and quality.

2. Enhanced Accountability:

Direct Accountability: Independent PMs are directly accountable to the hiring organisation, ensuring focus on meeting the project's objectives.

Transparency: They offer greater transparency in project reporting and status updates.

3. Cost Efficiency: 📊

Cost Control: Independent PMs can be more cost-effective, avoiding the higher fees and overhead costs of consultancy firms.

Flexible Engagement: They can be hired on flexible terms, aligning better with the project’s budget and timeline.

4. Focused Attention: 🧠

Dedicated Focus: Independent PMs are usually dedicated to one project, ensuring a high level of commitment.

Client-Centric Approach: Their work is centred around the client's needs and objectives.

I’m keen to hear what the market's view is on this!
