Senior IFS Technical Consultant

• Duration: 3–6 months initially
• Location: Primarily remote
• Working Model: Remote with occasional onsite workshops in Portugal
• Travel: Travel and expenses covered by the client
• Language: English required; Portuguese beneficial but not mandatory

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical expertise across the IFS platform, with a focus on backend technology, application servers, and system administration.
• Review the current IFS technical landscape and identify areas for improvement.
• Advise on best practices covering:
  • IFS application server setup and configuration
  • Backend architecture and technical configuration
  • Security hardening and access management
  • Backup and restore procedures
  • System monitoring and performance optimisation
  • Environment management and operational processes
• Analyse existing technical challenges and provide practical solutions.
• Support the resolution of outstanding technical questions following previous workshops with the implementation partner.
• Review current processes and recommend improvements aligned with IFS best practices.
• Support technical planning and preparation for future IFS roadmap activities, including potential IFS Cloud adoption.
• Deliver workshops, coaching, and knowledge transfer sessions to internal technical teams.
• Create technical documentation, recommendations, and best-practice guidelines where required.

Required Experience

• Extensive hands-on experience as an IFS Technical Consultant
• Strong experience with IFS environments, including backend configuration and application server technologies.
• Proven expertise in:
  • IFS technical architecture
  • Application server administration and optimisation
  • Security configuration and hardening
  • Backup and restore processes
  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Environment management
• Experience supporting IFS customers with technical improvements, upgrades, migrations, or optimisation initiatives.
• Ability to provide practical hands-on support and translate technical challenges into clear recommendations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience supporting IFS Cloud readiness activities, migrations, or upgrades.
• Experience working with IFS Applications versions and transition planning towards IFS Cloud.
• Experience delivering technical workshops and knowledge transfer.
• Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, security standards, and operational best practices.
• Portuguese language skills would be advantageous but are not essential
