Much like many other IT Work’s Consultants, Chris started his career in retail, most recently having spent three years in the motor trade. Whilst his time in sales was enjoyable, he found that it was neither challenging nor offering the career path that he always aspired to achieve.
This is when Chris began researching potential new careers, leading him to speak to people who had made the transition from sales into recruitment. They advised that it was challenging, but despite the hard work, they all felt empowered and in charge of their futures. Chris discovered soon after too that once he had taken the leap, he too would never look back.
As part of our IFS desk, Chris works on permanent roles within the North of England and Scotland. One of the things he loves about the market is that everybody knows everybody. Even on the first conversation with a client or candidate, Chris often finds that they share mutual connections, which helps him build solid working relationships from day one.
Chris is a Northern lad with a passion for sport; so, during the winter you will find him playing rugby, in the summer the competition moves to the golf course, and throughout the year he is often found on the football pitch (a great addition to IT Works FC!). It is a good job Chris enjoys sport as much as he does though, as he is a self-confessed sugar addict, with desserts being his real kryptonite!
For Chris, the key to success in his market is all about getting to know you and discovering more about the person behind the job. He is a people person and teamed with his knowledge, flexibility, and honesty, this has provided him with a proven track record in making successful placements across the market.
